I actually never heard of this movie until a friend reached out and asked if I could make “Tweeker’s” sweater for a costume she was putting together.
Fortunately for both of us, I actually a crochet-stitch in my arsenal that would work perfectly for making something similar:
Front & back panels pieced together
Adding sleeves (un-gathered neckline)
Final Sweater (I promise it is not this big on my client! I'm still working off the dress form I got when I was 16)
Informal fitting with client
Made using the “cross stitch,” this sweater is entirely crocheted and pieced together with just 2 panels. The only downside is that such a construction pattern could make future size-adjustments trickier…
But, fortunately, I don’t believe that’s going to be an issue…
