The day after my birthday in 2025, a new friend surprised me with a present after our monthly book club meeting. To my disappointment: it was a Taylor Swift bracelet.

I do not have the time to describe to you just how much I dislike Taylor Swift… and this friend already knew that going in (they are a HUGE fan, and nuance is lost on them most of the time).

But, I was touched by the fact that they were thinking of me on my birthday, and wanted to keep my present - just in a new form…

And, as a bonus to me, I got purge some nasty feels from my soul - though in a way I’m sure “Swifties” wouldn’t appreciate…
