Crochet Stocking Ornament

When I was a little girl, my aunt used to give me and my brother gift cards as part of our Christmas cards. And one year, she went the extra mile and put those cards in a couple stocking ornaments she made! While the ornaments have long been lost to the ravages of the moving vans over the years, I decided this year to recreate the idea with a scaled-down version of a popular stocking pattern. Using primarily the granny cluster with a single crochet stitch for the toe (so treats don’t fall out of the bottom), these stockings are a great size for gift cards and bite-sized candies. Be a pinch “naughty” if you like, and hide them on the Christmas tree as you shout: “on your mark! Get set! GO!”
